1. Set up in three steps
- Install. Click Install app on the HubSpot Marketplace listing, or open https://app.clutter-ai.com/integrations/hubspot/install. Sign in to ClutterAI (or create an account) and you land on the Integrations page with the HubSpot connection already starting. From inside ClutterAI: Integrations → HubSpot → Connect HubSpot.
- Authorize. HubSpot asks which account to connect and shows the permissions below. Choose the account whose deals you work in and click Connect app. You need to be a user of that HubSpot account; a Super admin is not required unless your account restricts app installs.
- First import. Stride imports your deal pipelines and stages, open and closed deals, and the contacts and companies attached to them. A progress line on the HubSpot card shows what is happening; most accounts finish in under two minutes. Open Stride (Workspace → Stride) and your pipeline is there.
Already keep deals in Stride? Connecting HubSpot merges by email and domain: a contact with the same email or a company with the same domain becomes one record. Deals that exist only in Stride can be pushed to HubSpot from the deal page (Push to HubSpot), one at a time, after you confirm.
2. What syncs, and in which direction
| HubSpot object | In Stride | Direction | Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deal pipelines and stages | Pipeline | HubSpot → Stride | Your pipeline names, stage order, probabilities and closed/won stages. Stride never edits pipeline settings. |
| Deals | Deals | Both ways, approved | Name, amount, currency, close date, stage, next step, closed/won. HubSpot wins on stage, amount and close date unless you have an approved change waiting. Stride writes only what you approve. |
| Contacts | People on a deal | HubSpot → Stride | Name, email, job title, company, for the contacts associated with your deals. Stride does not create or edit HubSpot contacts; it associates them with deals it creates. |
| Companies | Accounts | HubSpot → Stride | Name, domain, website, industry, for the companies associated with your deals. Stride does not create or edit HubSpot companies; it associates them with deals it creates. |
| Notes | Applied meeting proposals | Stride → HubSpot, approved | When you apply a meeting proposal, Stride offers one note summarising the applied items. It is posted to the deal only after you approve it. |
Timing
The first import runs when you connect. After that Stride checks HubSpot every 15 minutes for deals modified since the last sync, and you can press Sync now on the HubSpot card at any time. Writes to HubSpot happen the moment you approve them on the deal page.
Approvals
Every change Stride wants to send to HubSpot appears on the deal page as a pending item (for example “Stage → Contract sent”, “Amount → $80,000”, “Note: applied 6 updates from the 12 Sep call”). Approve all, approve one, or discard. Failed sends stay visible with HubSpot’s error and a Retry button. Nothing is sent without an approval, and every send is logged in your activity history.
What never touches HubSpot
- Meeting transcripts, recordings, email bodies and notes you keep in Stride.
- Deal memory, qualification fields, health scores and follow-up drafts.
- Your teammates’ deals: each ClutterAI user connects their own HubSpot login.
3. Permissions we ask for, and why
| Scope | Used for |
|---|---|
| Deals: read | Importing deals and finding the ones modified since the last sync. |
| Deals: write | Sending the stage, amount, close date and next step you approved; creating a deal you push from Stride. |
| Deal schemas: read | Reading your pipelines and stages so Stride’s board matches HubSpot’s. |
| Contacts: read | Importing the people attached to your deals. |
| Contacts: write | Associating a deal you push from Stride with its contacts, and posting an approved note (HubSpot’s Notes API is covered by the contacts scope). |
| Companies: read | Importing the companies attached to your deals. |
| Companies: write | Associating a deal you push from Stride with its company. |
Access tokens are kept server-side in our database (encrypted at rest by our hosting provider), refreshed automatically, never shown in the app, and dropped when you disconnect. See the Privacy Policy for how connected data is handled and deleted.
4. Disconnect or uninstall
- From ClutterAI: Integrations → HubSpot → Disconnect. Your deals, accounts and contacts stay in Stride; the links to HubSpot records, the sync mapping and any pending approvals are removed.
- From HubSpot: Settings → Integrations → Connected apps → ClutterAI Stride → Uninstall. Stride notices at the next sync, stops syncing and shows Connect HubSpot again. Nothing in HubSpot is changed by uninstalling.
- Delete your data: deleting your ClutterAI account removes everything imported from HubSpot, as described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Troubleshooting
- “HubSpot rejected the connection” on the card: the app was uninstalled in HubSpot or the authorizing user lost access. Click Connect HubSpot to authorize again.
- A deal is missing: Stride imports deals in the pipelines the authorizing user can see. Check the deal’s pipeline permissions in HubSpot, then press Sync now.
- A stage did not change in HubSpot: open the deal page in Stride and approve the pending item. Stride never moves a HubSpot deal without an approval.
- Anything else: email support@clutter-ai.com or use the support form. We answer within a business day.
6. Pricing
The HubSpot connection, your pipeline and approvals are included in every ClutterAI plan, including Free. Stride’s AI (meeting proposals, follow-up drafts, account research, proposal documents) is part of Pro, Max and the Team plans. See pricing.
